Nightly Reading: Each student should have a bookmark and a good fit book. Please encourage your student to read 20 minutes nightly! Starting next week, if their reading is not completed multiple times throughout the week, they will make up the reading during recess. 


Student Council: Any kids who would like to run for student council should have signed up. They can create two posters, one for the classroom and one for the hallway. They should also prepare a short speech (2 minutes) to present to our classroom. We will do speeches and voting on Friday! 


Laps for Lincoln: Laps for Lincoln is beginning! Students can bring in their envelopes on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday for the next two weeks. A note went home with all of the information. Thanks for all your help! 


Fall Conferences: Please click here to sign up for fall student led conferences. Your student should be coming with you to the conference to present their slides. 


A note from Mrs. Richards about recorders: 

Hello Fourth grade Families! 
            Your 4th grader is bringing home an order form for Recorders as a part of our 4th grade music program. Please read my letter; as I go into more detail about our  curriculum and hopefully answer any questions. Remember that it is not required to purchase a recorder or book, just an option. If you choose not to purchase a recorder or book your student will be "checked out" a school Recorder and Book.  
All Orders forms are due October 13th.  Here is a digital copy 


Math: Last week, we started unit 2 and completed lessons 1-4. This week, we will complete lessons 4-9. Unit 2- Fraction Equivalence and Comparison. Additional practice at home using IXL Textbook and practicing multiplication fluency will be extremely helpful for kids who are struggling with this concept.

  Lansing: Our Lansing trip is on Monday, May 4th.  Here is the information . This is always a favorite memory of fourth grade!  Please note that students need to arrive to school at 7:15, and will need to be picked up around 4:15/4:30 (this time is different than we originally shared). If your student normally rides the bus, please make sure to find other accommodations for this day. The bus will leave for Lansing at 7:30! Chaperones received a note home on Friday with more information. If you are chaperoning, please send in the $8 museum fee with your student before the trip.  Everyone going should bring a disposable water bottle, snacks, and a lunch. Students may also bring money for the gift shop! Track Meet:  The track meet will be on Friday, May 8th. We plan to get to the high school at 9:00. We are looking for a volunteer who has a wagon to hold student's water bottles.
