Happy last week of fourth grade!  As we wrap up this school year, I would like to extend my dearest gratitude for all of your support from home this year. It has been an incredible year, and it has been great seeing all of these kids grow so much. Your help building a school/home connection has made this growth possible. This is such a wonderful and special group of kids and I am beyond lucky to have had a part in their education journey. I will miss them a lot, but will love seeing them lead the school as fifth graders! I hope you have a wonderful summer break. Staff vs 5th grade Kickball Game: Our staff vs 5th grade kickball game will be on Wednesday, May 27th at 10:00 A.M. We are looking for a couple of volunteers who will be able to come and help supervise our class while the game is happening. Thank you for your consideration!  ABC Countdown:  Here is a link to our ABC Countdown. This Week:  Monday: No School, Memorial Day  Tuesday: Media Center, Fi...

We have had an amazing year in reading! Thank you so much for supporting your child’s reading plan; with your help, we were able to nurture a true love of reading and see wonderful growth in both fluency and comprehension. For our few remaining instructional days, students are welcome to read at home for "extra yards" if they choose. However, since we are currently immersed in a rigorous in-class book study of The Hope Chest —focusing on main idea, theme, and summary writing—at-home bookmarks are no longer required. Students will also have time in class to continue reading their independent books. Thank you for supporting all your child's hard work this year! ABC Countdown: Here is a link to our ABC Countdown. Tomorrow, students can bring a home outdoor toy to use for recess. This can include a ball, bike, scooter, etc. Tuesday will be pajama day. Wednesday, we will have a read in. Kids can bring a blanket and pillow and as many books as they would like! Thursday: Kid...

Thank you so much to all of our chaperones from our Lansing trip on Monday! You made the trip safe and memorable for the kids and we appreciate you so much!  Sarett: On Wednesday, we will be going to Sarett from 12:15-1:45. Parents/Guardians who want to join us may meet us there. You pay the entrance fee when you arrive. We will have an educational talk inside first and then we'll go on a hike. Please dress for the weather and know that there may be muddy areas. Students should also dress for the weather(in layers) and bring a water bottle for the hike. They will eat lunch at school before we leave, so lunches aren't necessary. NWEA: We will complete the Math NWEA on this Tuesday, the 12th, and Wednesday the 13th.  Please try to avoid absences on these days. Kids can bring gum or mints to wake up their brain!  ABC Countdown: To help motivate kids through the end of the year, we created an ABC Countdown with fun activities/dress up days for the rest of the year. ...

We will be walking everywhere!  Chaperones and students will meet in the classroom at 7:15 AM. Chaperones will receive an agenda, names of students in their charge, and instructions.  Chaperones and students will need a morning snack, lunch, and a disposable drink container.  Students may have one electronic device on the bus.  Students may bring some money for the museum gift shop ($ 20–$25 recommended; no food/candy on the bus).  Plan to pick up your child in front of Lincoln School between 4:15 and 4:30.
