  Hi everyone! I hope you had a happy and relaxing break.  Math: In math this week, we will complete lessons 5-10, involving place value.   Hi families!  Report Cards: Report cards were sent home on Friday.  It's important to keep in mind a couple of things. First, if your child is not a "3", the goal is to get there by the end of 4th grade. Students develop at their own pace! Second, students will continue to get individualized and group intervention in any areas below a "3". Also, in math, and reading, there are ways to practice at home, which may be necessary if the practice at school is not enough to master these goals. Students who are struggling with fractions need multiplication and division fluency. Please consider helping your child practice these facts to memory. In reading it's equally important for your child to read consistently a book that is not too easy or too hard at his/her interest level. The research supports that if this happens at school and home, along with quality instruction at school, your child can become a lifelong reader. I look forward to continuing our work toge...

  Hi everyone! Thank you to everyone who donated items for our Winn Dixie Party!  Read in: This Friday will be the end of Trimester 1. To celebrate all of the students hard work this trimester, we will have a read in! Students may wear pajamas, and bring a pillow, blanket, and as many books as they would like! We will be spending most of the day reading :)  Stuff-A-Truck: Stuff a truck will be ending on Friday! If you would like to and are able to donate, please send in non-perishable foods with your student. This week, we will plan to complete lessons 15-18.   Thank you so much to all of our volunteers who helped at the Fall Party on Friday! The kids had such a wonderful time!  Movie Day:   We are very very close to reaching our paperclip goal and are about to finish our class read aloud "Because of Winn Dixie"! Because of this, we will plan to celebrate with a movie on Friday, November 7th (Half Day). We will also be having a "party" like the one Opal has in the book with all of her friends. Here is a link to a signup for snacks and drinks if you are able to help out. We will be making Gloria Dumps "Dump Punch" ( link to the recipe) , and eating pickles and popcorn! Kids can bring in one pillow and one blanket as well. Please plan to send in items by Thursday 11/6.   Hi everyone!  Fall Party:   Our Fall party will be on October 31st from 12:30-1:45. Please remember that you need to have this form filled out if you plan to attend.  Students may wear a school appropriate costume to school on Halloween. We will be learning all day, so costumes can't get in the way. Props and accessories will be kept in backpacks until the party. Thanks for your understanding!
